01 The challenge

The old site ran on Kentico. Every content change went through a developer and every change cost money.

Five regions, 80 plus towns, hundreds of listings, events and itineraries, all needing to stay current through the season.

Listings had to stay in sync with the Donegal listings repository rather than being typed in twice.

02 What we did

01

Migration

Content, listings and URLs mapped out of Kentico and into a structured WordPress build, with redirects so nothing lost its ranking on the way across.
02

Editable framework

Regions, towns, things to do, itineraries and events built as reusable content types and section templates. The tourism team adds a festival or updates a town page without a developer.
03

API connection

Listings pull from the Donegal listings repository over an API, so partner businesses are added once and appear across the site automatically.

03 The impact

A site that carries the whole county, edited in house, with change costs close to zero. The build framework has since become the base for Sistaiom, our AI integrated website platform.

Built in partnership with our friends at bigO, and a project we are proud to share with them.

A county tourism site has to change every week of the season. We built it so the people who know Donegal can make those changes themselves.
